    Towing with RV

    Towing with RV
I just bought a 1986 Ford E350 Honey 28Foot motor home RV. 28k miles, Ford carb 460 3 speed Tranny. 3.5x range gears.

My plan is to tow my 15' open trailer and 3000 lbs 86 Mustang from PA to Norwalk OH for the Fun Ford Event. I used to use a 88 Chevy G20 with a FI 350. It towed it fine. (Trailer / Car combo was 4300 lbs)

The RV I just bought has a Class III hitch bolted to the frame under the bumper, but the motorhome has a sticker right on it that says 200 lb tongue weight, 2000 tow capacity.

I understand the payload the RV has additional weight from a 1 ton truck.

I've seen hundreds of RV / trailer combos at the Norwalk FFW over the past 8 years I've been attending. What needs done?

I think the first thing that needs to be done is to get a second mortgage for the fuel bill in that thing. lol
