GT40P heads-who has/had them with longtubes?

picked up some P heads and now i'm unsure of what headers to go with. I know FMS sells the P-specific shorties, but i REALLY want to go with longtubes. I hear the BBK's fit, especially the 1 3/4 without issues but i think that's too big for my 306....the 1 5/8 seem to work with some 90* boots on a few plugs, but then everyone complains about them contacting the steering shaft. Then there is Mac but i hear they are a PITA because of there individual flange design.

can someone help me out who has had experience?
